I'm back
Been awhile, how are ya?
So, got the great job I was fighting for, kids are getting bigger. Still love my husband...
Life is good.
How was your holidays?
Mine were good. Pretty bagged so that must say something. I also worked all through it so that must also say something. :)
I found a new favourite sone.
Ingrid Michaelson - Everybody.
Google it.

eager for spring.
OK, so I have not been the most dedicated blogger on the planet. I am working on it. :)
Robbie and I are getting ready for another holiday. We are going to Cuba again as we have not been there in about a year. This time Santiago De Cuba.
The resort reviews are not fantastic but it was a cheap two weeks away from my life. I always go through the same wave of experience... I am excited to go, I get there and by the time only one week is over, I am miserable. Between buggie bites and my grumpy husband.. I just want to get back to my kids.
I am optimistic. They say the snorkeling is fantastic right off the beach, all rooms have an ocean view and it's apparently a very small and secluded resort. If I ever figure out how to add pictures on here, I'll post some for you.
I have taken on an assistant named Kyle. He is doing a cooperative placement and I am excited to have him help me out. I hope he meets my high expectations. I must confess he is my new protege. I hate that I do that with youth looking to get into rec and leisure, but one day maybe they will do great things and that I might have had some small part in their success.
I went for my first real massage yesterday. A registered massage therapist. Oh la la. I was not at all what I expected. I was thinking some sort of spa treatment experience... Not even close. At first it was all nice and relaxing and then there was pressure and elbows and more pressure! I thought I was going to break out into tears at one point and prayed that the hour would go by quickly. I have bruises along my IT band on my upper thighs, but after the session the rest of me felt great. My range of motion has increased a ton. I had no idea I was that tight in my muscles. I do hope the pain is worth it and she assures me that each time I go it does get easier. I have two weeks to heal before I go again. So this weekend it's just me and my frozen bag of peas!
I'm looking for a few new books to take with me on holiday. Anyone got any ideas/suggestions?

holidays
Robbie and I have booked another holiday. It was dirt cheap and that is what worries me. It doesn't have much of a beach but the snorkeling is apparently amazing. Cuba of coarse. I do so love Cuba but I do so hate the food. So it's a toss up.
The last few times we vacationed was to Mexico. I love Mexico. Real food, nice pools, a small hint of civilization. Robbie hates Mexico only because you can't find a good cup of coffee to save your life. In Cuba most resorts have a whole bar designated for coffee.
Work is great. Just doing my thing here.
I finished another book. Now I have two under my belt for this years total. The goal is twelve but through this resolution challenge I have found that I really enjoy reading. This two week holiday will help I'm sure. I envision lots of book reading, cribbage playing and snorkeling. I looks like a quiet holiday with very little to do. I fear it will be like a Caribbean version of the groundhog day movie.
Kids are good. Kate is really into her robotic events. She broke up with the new guy - Hallelujah - She has been spending a lot of time with the group and being 16. That makes me happy. Justin is working and schooling. Krissy is a s well. Keri shared with the kids that she may not come home after her Korean career. She may move and marry in the U.S. That will be interesting.

February
Ah February! The month of love.
When I asked my wonderful husband what he wanted for valentines day he replied... you anyway I want. Yes I am quite scared actually. :)
My daughter has a boyfriend for valentines day for the first time. I hope he doesnt dissappoint her. In the end I dont think any girl has expectations for the first one. It's all so new and wonderful. I'd have been happy with a sock puppet for goodness sake.
I think February is a month to treasure. It's the only thing of value. The only thing worth living for or dying for. The only thing you can give everyday of your life and never go broke. It saves lives and heals the soul.
I am of coarse talking about love.

Welcome to the other side.
I have been struggling at work lately. I both love and hate my job.
I love teaching classes and working with my volunteers. I hate the members jeery faces and synical ideals.
I love the opportunity I have with the work that I do. I hate that I have to rely on people who don't take their job seriously, or care about mine.
I love the direct effect that I have on other people and the way I can make change in someones life. I hate it when people dissappoint me and let me down.
I love the variety of classes I get to teach. I wish I didn't have to teach so many.
I love the new yearly salary. Frustrated with my new BLT.
Is this what they call a career? I wish I could fix it, but I don't know what's broken.
